STIHL started USA production with a single type of chainsaw in Virginia Beach in 1974. Today STIHL USA is the STIHL Group’s largest global production site, manufacturing more than 275 model variants, bars and numerous plastics. In addition to petrol products, the site also produces battery products. Every year we process 16 million kilograms of granulate here, for example to create lightweight and robust housings in distinctive STIHL Orange. Our automated processes allow us to manufacture products quickly and in high quality. For example, the STIHL 4180 fuel tank can be molded, welded, assembled and tested for tightness in just 32 seconds in an automation cell.
